An eclectic mix of tradition and modernity

Breathtaking sights and majestic ancient ruins, luxurious hotels, and exquisite cuisine: there’s a wealth of attractions to draw you to Jordan. A visit to this beautiful country is about appreciating the past just as much as the present, as you soak up historic architecture before heading out on adrenaline-filled desert adventures, getting to know the incredibly welcoming Jordanians along the way.

The most famous site is the architectural wonder of Petra. Dating back to around 300 BC, it’s both a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Wonders of the World. The series of tombs and temples carved into the pink sandstone cliffs is simply majestic as it comes into view as you pass through the Al Siq canyon.

Elsewhere, spend time drinking in the stark beauty of Wadi Rum, enjoy the diverse culture of Amman, head to the Dead Sea for activities in and on the water, and get a taste of beach life. The final ingredient that brings an unforgettable Jordan experience together is discovering the country’s exquisite cuisine. From mansaf, a traditional lamb dish cooked in a sauce of fermented dried yogurt and served with rice, to syrupy sweet, crispy knafeh for dessert, might be the highlight of your trip.
